Facebook Will Remove Posts That Encourage Violence




Facebook facing accusations of encouraging violence in the countries like India, Sri Lanka and Myanmar Facebook has decided to remove any fake information that leads to physical harm and violence.
The new policy is said to take down all fake news pages and groups that have the potential to stir up controversy in the peaceful society.
Already Facebook-owned Whatsapp is facing the heat of spreading the fake news for allowing circulation provocative rumours that leading do much harm.
In the month of June, Facebook has removed content from alleged Facebook Muslim Groups in Sri Lanka were poisoned food is sold to Buddhists content has been sharing.
A group of activists over eight countries approached Facebook to moderate it into a transparent place rather than encouraging the spread of fake news that is abetting human rights, spreading misinformation, political bias.
The list of activists who approached Facebook includes the countries of Bangladesh, Srilanka, Vietnam, the Philippines, Syria and Ethiopia and Myanmar in addition to India.
Sri Lanka once shut down Facebook in the earlier 2018 for few days after hate speech has been spread on a leading company’s apps that resulted in mob violence.
The new policy of Facebook says it will review the posts from now on with few partnered firms over the credibility of the content posted on to the Facebook.
